Georgia Football 2018 recruit: Nations Top OLB Adam Anderson
What can we expect in Athens?
Anderson could come in and make an impact in year one. While his skill set is unique, I’d be shocked if he started on day 1. Walter Grant and D’Andre Walker look like they will be ready to start in 2018. Both of them are more complete players than Anderson right now, but neither can rush the passer in the way Anderson can.
I can see Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker turning him loose in obvious passing situations. That length and quickness is just such a rare thing and it could really shock tackles. He could end up making even more of an impact that Grant did this year.
In the long term, however, Anderson does make me think a lot of Leonard Floyd. Floyd was never utilized correctly at UGA when you think about it. There’s a reason that despite on;y collecting 5.5 sacks in his junior year, he went in the top 10 in the draft. He’s made offensive linemen look silly in the NFL when he’s been healthy and I think Anderson could become a similar if not an even better player.
Next: Now let's check out Cade Mays
What helps Anderson is who he will be playing for. Whoever Kirby Smart brings in to coach OLB’s will likely be a great coach. Kirby Smart knows how to build a great defense and if he has pass rushers, he will find a way to let them loose. Anderson will have an impact on day 1, but eventually, he could end up as the star player on a top-level defense.
