Georgia Softball: Dawgs take on Vols tomorrow in Tournament
The Georgia Softball team will take on the Tennessee Volunteers tomorrow in a matchup of SEC powerhouses looking to progress in the tournament.
With the Baseball team struggling, it might be up to the Georgia Softball team to provide Dawg fans with something to cheer about this postseason. Having overcome a strong Northwestern team, they take on Tennessee this weekend in a 3 game series.
The Dawgs will be the favorite having come into the series as the number 7 seed. They ran over the Vols in two games this season by a combined score of 17-1 but they will take on a different team tomorrow.
Tennessee put together a strong a 17-6 record after the thrashing by Georgia and their team has improved. UGA is also without star pitcher Brittany Gray who has been lost for the season with a bicep injury. But the Dawgs remain one of the best team in the nation. They boast a tremendous offense that can score on anyone and a stable of excellent pitchers.
For those looking for a fun thing to do this memorial weekend, I’d recommend checking out a game. The games will also be live on ESPNU. The Dawgs have been lights out this year and in Alyssa DiCarlo have one of the games most exciting hitters. DiCarlo hit 3 home runs in a single game to help win the Northwestern series.
