Georgia football has signed three-straight top three classes and are expected to do the same in 2020. But the Bulldogs only have three commits so far.

You have probably noticed that 247Sports is the favorite recruiting site on Dawn Of the Dawg. That’s for a few reasons, but the biggest are the industry generated 247Sports Composite and the Crystal Ball predictions by the recruiting experts. The Crystal Ball is the subject of this story as we run down the top three prospect who are currently projected to commit to Georgia football by the expects at 247Sports.

No. 9 Arik Gilbert

Arik Gilbert is a true rarity in recruiting because not many athletes are projected to play tight end in college. The Marietta High School star is the top rated athlete in the nation and the no. 1 ranked Peach State prospect. If you thought Isaac Nauta and Orson Charles were athletic tight ends, they’ve got nothing on Gilbert. He’s listed as an athlete because his receiving abilities are closer to that of a wide receiver. But he’s bigger and more powerful. He isn’t a tight end fans should worry about being neglected on offense.

Seven experts have made predictions on Gilbert and all of them say he’s going to Georgia. But, lead expert Rusty Mansell hasn’t made a prediction yet. His is the one to watch because he follows Gilbert the closest and he’s successful on over 85-percent of his predictions.

No. 16 Myles Murphy

Excuse the hyperbole, but Myles Murphy’s signature would turn prove Georgia’s recent recruiting success isn’t temporary and that the Dawgs are ready to become a true, long-term recruiting juggernaut. That’s because of Alabama’s dominance in recruiting defensive linemen during their ongoing dynasty. It’s the position they’ve excelled at the most.

But with the defensive line unit Georgia just signed, and Jamil Burroghs already committed to the G, Murphy coming to Athens would break Bama’s dominance in the line of scrimmage. It’ll show that Georgia is a program set to reload every year, instead of ever having to rebuild.

Only three experts have predicted Murphy’s choice so far. But one of which is Mansell and all three have the no. 3 ranked strongside defensive end going to Georgia. You can see Murphy yourself if you live around Powder Springs. He attends Hillgrove High School.

No. 27 Marshawn Lloyd

Marshawn Lloyd is the only player on this list who is yet to get a “Who is” article (though that’ll change soon). He’s also the only player who isn’t a a unanimous pick to head to Athens. A whopping 10 experts have predicted where Lloyd will end up. five, including Mansell, say he’s heading to Georgia. Penn State is in the mix as well.

As far as him as a player, he’s a sub-6-foot running back who is growing. 247Sports lists him at 206 lbs. Watching his tape, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him bulk up in the 220’s, especially if he comes to Georgia. His playing style and quality is what you would expect from the no. 4 running back in the nation. He trucks and jukes people. Has a good spin move. Can run strong between the tackles or use quickness to get to the outside. He is a solid, all around running back. One Georgia fans should keep an eye on.

Those are the top three prospects predicted to go to Georgia. Each are Five star players. But they aren’t the only players the Dawgs are in the hunt for. Keep an eye on defensive end Bryan Breese, guard Justin Rogers and running back Tank Bigsby.
