Georgia football has quite a few junior college transfers on the roster right now. Here are three transfer players who I think won’t miss a beat and help the Dawgs right away in 2019.

There are three transfer guys that I think Georgia football utilizes right away on the field.

The Bulldogs have an abundance of talent at every position, but these three guys can make an impact right away in their respected areas.

Georgia has guys like Devonte Wyatt, and Tramel Walthour who are both transfers will get some time on the defensive line this year.

Then there is Tennessee transfer Eli Wolf who will help contribute with the tight ends. Stetson Bennett transferred back to Georgia as well.

So the Dawgs are utilizing the junior colleges around the country.

However, these three guys I think will have bigger opportunities to make a significant impact in their first season at Georgia.

Jermaine Johnson

Jermaine Johnson is the first guy that I think will explode onto the scene in 2019.

He is a hybrid type player who can play linebacker or line up with his hand in the dirt and play on the defensive line.

Johnson transferred to Georgia from Independence Community College in Kansas. During his two seasons there, he had 96 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Johnson recorded two pass breakups as well.

I’ve been high on this player since before he committed to the Dawgs. Johnson’s got great length and is super smart on the field. I’m looking forward to seeing what Scott Sinclair and the strength staff do with him too.

Johnson makes this list because of how impressive he was on the field for the Pirates last year, and I believe it carries over to Georgia. The Dawgs need that next guy who will be able to rush the passer, and I like Johnson to be that guy.

Lawrence Cager

Lawrence Cager came to Georgia from Miami as a graduate transfer. He played for the Hurricanes in 2015, 2017, and 2018. Cager missed the 2016 season due to an injury.

He is  6-5 and 220 pounds and has the experience that the Dawgs need at the wideout position. According to his Miami sports bio, Cager had 45 catches for 681 yards and ten touchdowns.

While he didn’t lead the Hurricanes in catching and stuff, Cager made contributions where needed. However, at Georgia, the Dawgs will utilize him all game long. Georgia lost Jeremiah Holloman, we all know that, but now the Dawgs look for his replacement, and Cager could be that guy.

He has enough experience that Cager knows what it takes to compete in college football, and it’ll be good to have him in that young receiving room. Cager will be able to give advice and be someone the younger receivers look up to for things. I believe he embraces that role.

If Cager can keep making the catches as he did at Miami, he could end up being one of Jake Fromm’s favorite targets in 2019.

D.J. Daniel

The final guy on my list is D.J. Daniel, who transferred to Georgia from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville.

Last season, he had ten tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and two blocks.

Daniel committed to the Gamecocks at first but eventually flipped to the Dawgs, which excites me. I like his football IQ and how he sees the field. The Dawgs are looking for someone to take over Deandre Bakers spots, and Daniel could be one of the many guys we see at that spot.

However, I think he’s good enough for the coaches to rotate him around some in the secondary, and that he will be a guy that can help out wherever needed.

I put him on this list because he got a good season under his belt last year and the Dawgs need a little more experience in the cornerback position. So I expect him to use his knowledge and earn some time on the field.

Next. Three Teams Georgia Football must play in the future. dark

Georgia has plenty of talent it can pull from, but these three guys have playing time at the college level, and I think they’ll all show out and earn some time on the field this year.

I’m incredibly high on Johnson and think he could impress some people along with Cager. These first few games are going to be fun to watch because I bet we see all kinds of movement.
