Georgia football has a top-six 2020 recruiting has been quiet lately, but that doesn’t mean things aren’t happening. Which of these four 5-stars will the Dawgs nab?

It’s been a while since Georgia football landed a commitment for the 2020 class. The last time the Dawgs landed a pledge was back on August 17 when 4-star center, Sedrick Van Pran, picked Georgia over LSU and many other schools.

Currently, on 247Sports Composite ranking, Georgia has the No. 6 overall class and the No. 3 in the SEC. The Dawgs also have an average per commitment rating of 93.82.

Georgia has 16 members currently and will finish with 23-24 pledges. Of those 16 players, three of them are 5-stars, 10 4-stars, and three 3-stars.

Even though the Dawgs had one of the biggest recruiting weekends when Notre Dame came to town, things have stayed pretty quiet.

A while back, I did an article about how many five-stars Georgia would land in the 2020 class. Well, some of that may change slightly, but not by much. The running back position may suffer, but not really.

Georgia should still finish with a top 3 class again and finish with a loaded class. Here are four 5-stars that could commit to the Dawgs and when they could make a decision.

1: Darnell Washington

The first five-star that comes to mind is Darnell Washington. He’s been hot on Georgia for a while, and now the Dawgs lead the crystal ball race with 83 percent.

Washington is a 6-7.5 261 pound athlete from Las Vegas. He wants to play at tight end in college and Georgia’s recruiting him there and hard.

According to the 247Sports rankings, he ranks as the No. 11 overall, the No. 1 ATH, and the No. 1 Nevada prospect.

Washington took his official visit to Georgia for the Notre Dame game and was at the hip of 4-star current Dawg commitment Carson Beck and fellow tight end 4-star, Theo Johnson all night.

He seemed to have fun, and now there is just a ton of love surrounding him and the Dawgs. If I had to guess, he is someone who I think Georgia lands when it’s all said and done.

Washington’s going to still take his official visits to Florida this weekend and Alabama on Nov. 8 before he makes a decision, but I still like the Dawgs chances here.

To be honest, I think he’s a silent commitment and is just waiting to make it official after his officials so he can still enjoy the process.

2: Jordan Burch

Another five-star who I think is hot on Georgia is defensive end Jordan Burch from Columbia, S.C.

Some sites said that he wasn’t at the Notre Dame game, my sources say he was and that he had a really good time. Burch is a quiet guy and isn’t going to let anyone in to discuss the recruiting process. His mom has done a great job keeping him humble and from getting a big head.

According to 247Sports rankings, he ranks as the No. 2 overall, the No. 1 SDE, and the No. 1 player in South Carolina.

Clemson holds 62 percent of the crystal ball predictions while 25 percent of them have him at undecided. Well, that 25 percent is Georgia, in my opinion. Some think that South Carolina is the team to beat, but I believe it’ll still be Clemson because we all know how those Tigers like to recruit defensive linemen.

Right now, I think that Burch ends up at Georgia. There are early playing time opportunities, and with his talent, he could be one of those guys who make an immediate impact.

3: Elias Ricks

Elias Ricks is the biggest long shot on this article. He’s currently an LSU commit and has been since December 25, 2018. Originally from California, he moved to IMG Academy for his senior season.

According to 247Sports rankings, he ranks as the No. 15 overall, the No. 2 CB, and the No.1 player in Florida.  He’s best friends with Kendall Milton, one of Georgia’s many commits in the 2020 class.

Those two want to play together, and well, Milton isn’t going anywhere. I think Milton finds a way to get Ricks in this class.

He’s an incredible athlete, and Georgia needs him in their secondary.

I think it’s going to take a lot to get him to Athens, but if he does look out, he will be in this class if that happens.

To me, Ricks likes Georgia a lot more than he’s leading on, and the next few weeks will be ones to watch with him. However, if it stays like it is now, he’ll end up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

4: Kelee Ringo

Finally, Kelee Ringo is the other 5- star on this list that I believe is already silently committed to the Dawgs.

He didn’t make it to the Notre Dame game, but I expect him to be at one of the home games with his mom. Those two love Georgia, and he’s been on campus enough this offseason for everyone to realize how much he likes it.

According to 247Sports rankings, he ranks as the No. 6 overall, the No. 1 CB, No. 1 Arizona player, and the No. 176 all-time prospect.

Right now, Ringo’s crystal ball predictions have Georgia at a 92 percent advantage, and Texas sits at eight percent. I believe the Dawgs are the ones to beat in his recruitment. Much like Washington, I expect Ringo to take all of his official visits before making an announcement.

Two of them should be Georgia and Texas. After that, I’m not sure where his other ones will be.

I think it’s a done deal for the Dawgs and Georgia will land the No. 1 corner back in the country.

It won’t be long until the early signing period in Decemeber, and all four of these guys have Georgia high on their lists. The Bulldogs could very well land all of them, but for now, I’ll give a prediction that Georgia lands three of the four players.

Like I said before, top-3 class if not the No. 1 class for the Dawgs come February.
