If there has been any player on the defense waiting to be an impact player on this Georgia football team, then it would be senior linebacker Robert Beal Jr.

A Georgia native is the most similar in stature to Adam Anderson. His long arms and pure athleticism allow him the ability to fire off the line like a bullet.

Beal, just through six games this season, is fifth on the team in sacks with 2.5. He also has 12 tackles on the season, 3.5 tackles for loss and 12 quarterback hurries. Beal hasn’t done a ton but has made an impact when he gets the opportunity.

Saturday will be an excellent chance for him to prove himself, as the starters will likely rest a good chunk of the game. If he can get some action against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, it’ll only help his confidence grow. He has seen spurts of greatness, but it hasn’t always been the most consistent.

Beal has been waiting for his whole career at Georgia for an opportunity to showcase his skills, and this just might be the time to do it with Anderson gone.

It’s past time for him to leave his mark on the field, and Beal has a prime opportunity to do so. Georgia will need him throughout these last few games of the season, so it’s now or never for Beal.
