Georgia football defensive back Latavious Brini entered the transfer portal earlier this month, and it didn’t take him long to find his next home.

Former Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman picked up a solid defensive back that will be able to give the Razorbacks another guy with some experience. The Hogs had some guys from the secondary hit the transfer portal, so adding someone like Brini will help them.

He will be a super senior in 2022, so next season will be his last to make something happen.

Georgia football fans should be excited about Latvious Brini choosing Arkansas.

This past season, Brini finished with 38 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and eight pass breakups. He came up big against Clemson with four tackles, but his best performances came against Auburn and Florida, where he recorded five tackles in both games, 0.5 tackles for loss against the Gators and one tackle for loss against Auburn.

Brini played in 30 games during his time in Athens, recording 50 total tackles, six tackles for loss, one interception, and 10 pass breakups. He has had his fair shares of ups and downs while at Georgia, but he stuck it out. No one blames him for choosing another school for his super senior season.

There have been a lot of other defensive backs he competed against, and some times he won the job and other times he didn’t. However, he stuck it out with the Dawgs for four years says a lot about his character.

The Hogs should be pleased with this pickup because Brini is a hardworking player who buys into the program. It’s not that Georgia couldn’t, but there were a lot of other guys ahead of him, so it’s understandable why he went to a school where he will likely start and succeed.

Safeties coach Barry Odums and cornerbacks coach Sam Carter will do a great job getting him one more year to develop him into an NFL talent.

Georgia could have used him for depth purposes in 2022, but with that large 2022 recruiting class coming in and the other veterans returning, this decision was the best one for Brini.
