Honorable Mentions

Multiple other teams could be interested in George Pickens, but other positions are more likely to be targeted instead of a wide receiver.

The Detroit Lions could be in the market for receiver help after Amon-Ra St. Brown led the team as a rookie. However, with multiple other glaring needs on both sides of the ball, look for the Lions to address other positions first.

Detroit does have multiple first-round picks, though, so a receiver could be a possibility depending on how the chips fall.

Atlanta is another team with major needs on both sides of the ball. After selecting tight end Kyle Pitts with the fourth overall pick in 2021, Atlanta could look to go different direction instead of adding another playmaker.

One of the looming questions about wide receiver Calvin Ridley makes this a unique situation, though, as replacing him will be a top priority should he be dealt with in the offseason.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team that desperately needs to provide better receiving weapons for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Jags make the most sense of the honorable mentions since they have the first overall pick to use on other needs, such as an edge rusher or offensive lineman.

Depending on which receivers are left on the board at the start of the second round, Pickens could be on his way to Duval.

The pre-draft process will allow Pickens to impress teams in interviews and at the combine. Standing out and making a good enough impression on the right team could help him leap a couple of the receivers currently slated to be taken ahead of him.

Health will remain the biggest factor in Pickens’ future in the NFL. If he can stay on the field, he has everything a team could want in a wide receiver and could be one of the bigger steals in the draft.
