Georgia wide receiver, George Pickens

George Pickens showed at the NFL Combine that none of the teams should worry too much about his knee. He shocked the world with his speed, which alone elevated his draft stock.

On many pre-NFL Combine mock drafts, Pickens seemed to be someone experts were unsure about his injury and not playing much last season, so he was all over the place in where he would get selected.

Pickens looks like his rehabilitation process is right where it needs to be, and because they were patient with him, it will help him avoid getting hurt again. He ran a 4.47 40-yard dash jumped 33″ in the vertical and 10’5″ broad jump. Those numbers are great for a player just getting back from injury.

Pickens could go late in the first round or early in the second. So, I would be surprised to see him go any lower than the second round.

He is another Julio Jones type of wide receiver. Pickens is someone an NFL team must draft because he is that talented. Regardless of this injury, Pickens is one of the best receivers in this draft. He has excellent hands, vision and his football IQ is incredibly high.

No, he didn’t play much, but that doesn’t matter. His size and speed are NFL caliber, and what he did as a sophomore was enough to make him a big target.
