Georgia football begins spring practice on Tuesday, and while the last couple of months have dragged by, we can finally say new football news and discussions can officially start.

The Dawgs are coming off winning the national championship over the Alabama Crimson Tide 33-18, and now all eyes are on Athens to see what happens next.

While Georgia lost 15 to the NFL Draft and eight in the transfer portal, what head coach Kirby Smart has done is create enough depth for those departures not to hurt as bad.

Of course, it does hurt to see so many leave the program after one season, but the Dawgs have a reloaded squad full of veterans and newcomers that should continue to keep this program at an elite level.

Georgia football fans should be excited for spring practice, especially after winning a national championship.

Spring ball is where great teams begin to build that brotherhood bond and come together. It’s also where the most competition happens because players old and young challenge each other to get their shot at a starting spot.

Georgia can start their 2022 campaign on the right foot by having a strong spring, and all signs, at least what is on paper, point to having a solid team.

The Dawgs need their leaders to start the team-bonding stuff now and start the skull sessions now because those are the things that made the 2021 squad incredible. Smart knows what it takes to win a national championship, and now it’s time to see how things go after winning one.

Will he be even harder on this squad? Will the expectations remain the same? Only time will tell, but there will be no letting up or complacency if his personality tells us anything.

The annual spring G-Day game is on April 16, and it’s time to start making your plans. Georgia fans need to pack it out as they did for 93k Day in Smart’s first season. This team deserves it, and Dawg Nation needs to show why they are the best.

With spring ball officially starting, here are three reasons to be excited about it.
