There are a lot of former Georgia football players in the NFL right now, but there is only one starting quarterback — Matthew Stafford.

He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, and after a decade with Detriot, in his first season with the LA Rams, he led them to a Super Bowl win.

That victory led to a massive contract, and if anyone deserved that, it’s Stafford because he is an incredibly talented quarterback. He is one of many NFL Dawgs getting new contracts, and while all of those are recruiting tools, the hefty one that LA just gave Stafford is massive for future quarterbacks picking a school.

Georgia football can show off their Super Bowl-winning quarterback to help persuade recruits.

The Dawgs can land 5-star quarterbacks, and while there haven’t been any to become a starter in the NFL yet, it doesn’t mean the University of Georgia cannot produce quality signal-callers.

Georgia has a quarterback room currently full of talented guys, and once they get their shot could be the next ones to make the NFL. There aren’t many quarterback slots in the NFL up for grabs and a ton of talented collegiate ones entering the NFL Draft every year.

However, seeing a guy like Stafford get a contract as he did, there has to be some trickle-down effect for the next generation of Georgia football quarterbacks. Prospects see that and then see the ‘G,’ which should pique their interest.

Stafford was an anomaly, and before he went to college, everyone knew that he would be a high draft pick. He lived up to his potential and then fought through adversities for over a decade on a team that made most people think he wasn’t as good as that No.1 overall pick title suggested.

Once he found the right team for him, Stafford flourished and won a Super Bowl his first season with them and was the first former Georgia quarterback to do so. He is proof that anything could happen with hard work, determination, and patience.

Those traits are why he is a walking recruiting tool for the University of Georgia because head coach Kirby Smart and his coaching staff teach those and try their best to pull them out of players no matter the position.
