Georgia football will emphasize a larger receiver class

The next position that Georgia football will focus on is the receiver group. Georgia signed four in the 2022 class, but there are still needs for the position. The Dawgs need some more deep threats, but also some versatile guys.

They picked up a lot of speedy guys in 2022, but now let’s see the Dawgs grab height, physicality, and speed.

Georgia lost George Pickens to the 2022 NFL Draft and will lose Kearis Jackson after the 2022 season. Some juniors like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Arik Gilbert, and Dominick Blaylock could also declare and leave early if they choose to do so.

The Dawgs need some big-bodied receivers that can go up against the tough defensive backs in the SEC, and there are plenty of them in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

In our opinion, Georiga hasn’t done a top-notch job of landing strong receivers the last couple of cycles. While there have been talented players like AD Mitchell, Arian Smith and Ladd McConkey to come through, there just needs to be more at that position.

With Bryan McClendon as the new receivers coach and the Dawgs likely emphasizing the passing attack, getting some big-time targets in 2023 is critical to keeping this position deep and full of guys who can play the way Georgia wants on offense.
