Georgia football running back Daijun Edwards is wasting no time at G-day as he already has two touchdowns on the day.

While everyone has talked about Kenny McIntosh and Kendall Milton, Edwards is taking advantage of every opportunity he gets, proving himself every time he touches the ball.

He scored both touchdowns for the Red Team and has had the most success on the ground so far on the day.

Georgia football sees Daijun Edwards take advantage of snaps at G-Day.

Edwards’ first touchdown run was for 10-yards after quarterback Carson Beck connected with Arian Smith for 60-yards to get them in the red zone.

He made a great cut and decided to hit the outside, which helped him get the edge and into the endzone.

That two-play drive gave the Red Team a lot of momentum, but having that touch be the first for Edwards, gave him even more confidence. Edwards scored his second touchdown in the second quarter, and it was a similar distance to the first one.

His vision has gotten a lot better this offseason, and it’s evident how much work he has put into improving. Edwards is making it a point to prove himself to the coaches and is silently screaming to put him on the field.

Edwards deserves a shot after the way he has run in the first half of the scrimmage.

He shows what taking advantage of limited opportunities can do for a player. Edwards has only gotten a handful of carries as he is sharing the load with Savaughn Clark on the Red Team, but Edwards has two scores, which should matter to the coaches.

Georgia football is showing from both offenses that the 2022 unit will be a problem for defenses because there are so many playmakers out there. The Dawgs are seeing young players and veterans step up so far in the G-Day game, and the second half should be fun to watch as these quarterbacks are duking it out.
