Georgia baseball finds itself with a perfect record
Before anyone says anything, Georgia baseball truly has the perfect record after beating No.1 Tennessee on Saturday.
With that win, the Dawgs are 33-18 on the season, and yes, hopefully, by now, all the true fans know why it’s perfect. Georgia is also 14-13 in SEC play, which is why this win was so important to keep them above .500 in the conference.
Those two numbers will be some of Dawg nations’ favorites for a long time, so it’s crucial to milk it every time we see them.
Georgia baseball sits with a perfect record as the postseason is approaching.
Thankfully the baseball team got this victory and avoided a sweep against the Vols, which helps make it easier to appreciate that record.
This win gives the Diamond Dawgs some momentum as the regular season is quickly coming to a close, but that record should give them even more confidence.
The Dawgs beat Tennessee 8-3 as they recorded nine hits on the day.
Tennessee is hard to beat this year, so for Georgia to get this win is a massive moral victory too. This game has to give the Dawgs a lot of confidence because of how tough Tennessee is hard to beat.
Georgia got close on Friday night but just couldn’t, which allowed the Vols to win the series, but hey, at least it wasn’t a sweep. It was also the first time this year that the Dawgs came into the final game of an SEC series looking to avoid getting swept.
Mississippi State was the last team to sweep Georgia, and that was in 2019.
The Vols have some burners that pitch, and when we say burners, some of them clock 100-plus miles-per-hour balls. It’s crazy, so nine hits are enormous.
Georgia hit three home runs on Saturday to beat the Vols, and when you think about it, the Dawgs scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to beat Alabama, which makes this an even eerier situation.
However, it’s the offseason, so enjoy these things because Georgia is national champions in football, and Dawg fans will find ways to incorporate that into everything.
