Georgia football has a lot of guys on the 2022 squad ready to prove themselves, and MJ Sherman is one of them.

He has worked through injuries and a deep group of linebackers ahead of him, but now in 2022, his path to greatness is wide open.

Sherman will be one of the guys who keep Georgia’s defense at an elite level, and fans have waited for this moment since he stepped foot on campus.

Georgia football will see MJ Sherman become a fan favorite in 2022.

Out of high school, Sherman was a 4-star on the 2020 247Sports Composite rankings, where he ranked as the No. 35 overall, No.2 outside linebacker, and the No.2 player out of Washington D.C.

As he heads into his third season in Athens, it’s time for him to push back the injuries and perform to the standard set for Sherman.

On Wednesday, Georgia football posted this video with Sherman, giving fans a glimpse of his personality.

They asked him what the best way to describe him was, and he said passionate. That answer is why he is a great member of this Georgia team because you have to love this game to handle the standards.

He is a team player and strives to be a strong teammate to his brothers. Despite having the injuries, he continues to prove himself on special teams.

Sherman played in all 15 games last year, and he recorded seven total tackles. Now, I’m sure it seems that someone with that bit of production wouldn’t be one to watch in 2022, but he is.

Now that Georgia did see most of its star linebacker drafted, it leaves him, Nolan Smith and Robert Beal as the older players. He finally has the chance to get the reps to produce more than seven tackles.

Georgia football is looking for that next round of all-stars for this defense, and 2022 gives Sherman the perfect opportunity to be one of those guys. He is too talented to have just seven tackles in a season, so as long as he stays healthy, this year will be his coming out party.

Sherman will be on everyone’s radar if he performs like we think he will.
