One of the biggest phenoms of the 2021 Georgia football season was Ladd McConkey, and now 2022 could be an even bigger year for him.

The redshirt sophomore has a full year of experience under his belt, so now the sky is the limit for him.

He knows to be confident in himself, and while his production fell off some toward the end of 2021, with Jermaine Burton’s full-time return — now, McConkey can take that role and prove himself.

Georgia football will see big things from Ladd McConkey in 2022.

Last season, he was the third leading receiver for the Dawgs.

McConkey recorded 31 catches for 447 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 14.42 yards a catch and was such a force early on for the Dawgs. McConkey helped beat Auburn and a few other opponents.

He is a twitchy receiver that can go deep or play in the slot position. There isn’t much McConkey can’t do, and his whole story makes him even more fun to root for because he is an underdog.

Now he can push away from being the underdog and step into the leadership role that Georgia needs from him.

No one expected this young man to do anything in 2021, much less be one of the top receivers, so he should take that incredible season and run with it for the rest of his time at Georgia.

He has what it takes to have a long career and will only get better now that Bryan McClendon is the receivers’ coach.

With McClendon, McConkey can grow so much because he is the best receivers coach in all of college football, at least in my opinion he is. Todd Hartley convinced the staff to take a risk on McConkey, and now he can work with a genius — expect big things from him because of this.

Next. Georgia football: Christopher Smith is the veteran Dawg. dark

McConkey is someone to be excited about for the 2022 season because he will grow off his break-out year and prove that he is a legit weapon for the Dawgs.
