Georgia football added another linebacker to its 2023 recruiting class on Saturday as Troy Bowles makes it official.

Co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann has done it again, adding the third elite linebacker to the 2023 Georgia football recruiting class in Troy Bowles.

This pledge gives the Dawgs 14 members for this 2023 class and the second linebacker of the month.

The Dawgs have the No. 6 247Sports team ranking with this new addition, but that ranking won’t stay there long.

Bowles is just the beginning, but let’s dive into what he brings to this recruiting class and why he is so special.

Georgia football is on a recruiting streak as hot as the July weather.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Bowles is the No. 44 overall player, the No.2 linebacker and the No. 11 player out of the Sunshine state.

He sits at 6-1 and 205 pounds, which is the ideal height for his position. Bowles can add extra weight to his frame without sacrificing much speed. The Dawgs’ weight and nutrition program will be great for Bowles and help him fill out his frame.

Bowles picked the Dawgs over Ohio State and Oklahoma. The Tampa native is the son of Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, so the football knowledge runs deep.

There is so much to like about Bowles. He has excellent instincts and speed. Bowles is strong and will be a great addition to the inside linebackers room. His gritty style of play and high IQ had to be two of the reasons Schumann wanted him so bad. Plus, his bursts are top-notch. As I said, there isn’t much there that isn’t good about Bowles, and that’s why Georgia is the perfect fit for him.

Last season, Bowles finished with 103 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one recovery, and one interception. He was a monster on the football field, and watching him during his senior year will be fun.

Next. Epic recruits that Georgia football could see commit in July. dark

Georgia football has had the first of many dominos fall, with Bowles picking the Dawgs. The rest of this month should be just as good for the Dawgs as they look to gain more momentum in this 2023 recruiting class.
