Georgia football almost saw Brock Bowers collect 1,000 yards receiving last year, but in 2022, it will be a receiver that finally makes it happen.

Adonai Mitchell will be the next Georgia player that records over 1,000 yards in a single season, and while some may think it’s too soon to say that or it could jinx him — that needs to stop now. The superstitions are understandable, but this kid is far too talented not to predict this.

What Georgia saw out of Mitchell down the stretch last season is what the Dawgs should see out of him out of the gate in 2022. That experience he gained was invaluable to his progress, and now he understands what it’ll take to make it happen.

Not to mention Georgia’s offense is out-of-this-world talented, so he has an excellent opportunity to take advantage of that and make big things happen.

Georgia football will see Adonai Mitchell break the single-season receiving record in 2022.

That single-season record for most receiving yards is no longer safe. What Georgia can do with Mitchell in 2022 should allow him to break that decade-long mark. His catching abilities have improved, his route running is even better and he is the primary deep threat for the Dawgs.

Mitchell doesn’t have to work with George Pickens or fight for that role — it’s already his. Now he just has to take that starting position and run with it. Receivers coach Bryan McClendon has already helped Mitchell improve in the short time he has been back in Athens, so imagine a few more months with the guy — mind-blowing progress.

Before anyone says that starting quarterback Stetson Bennett cannot get it to him — that is hogwash, and everyone knows it. No one should doubt Mitchell because he has the talent that Georgia needs to have someone break that single-season record. Bennett can help him make that happen; it’ll be incredible to unfold in 2022.

Put Mitchell down as someone destined to do great things in 2022 because the universe is shouting it from everywhere. It’s his time to shine and prove he can be as productive as he was down the stretch in 2021 for the entire 2022 football season.
