Georgia football plays its first home game of the season today as the Dawgs take on Samford. While it will be soggy, the Dawgs should handle their business in a big way.

After demoralizing the Oregon Ducks last weekend, Georgia jumped to No.2 on the AP Top 25 Poll.

The Dawgs look to stay undefeated, and while it shouldn’t be too much of an issue, this game demands focus. Samford gave Florida everything the Gators had last season and just came up short. However, that won’t happen this week for the Dawgs, they have a far more disciplined team than the Gators, and this team is highly talented.

As long as the Dawgs do their job, it will be an easy win with a lot of offense.

Georgia Football Injury Report vs. Samford Bulldogs for Week 2:

The Dawgs are still pretty healthy for their home-opening game against the Bulldogs. Georgia will still not have Arian Smith and Andrew Paul, but the rest of those on the injured list are either questionable or probable. They got out of Atlanta without any significant injuries, which is a great thing because when a team like Georgia is healthy, the better it is.

This week against Samford, look for a lot of Dawgs to get snaps and to keep the starters fresh for next week’s opening SEC game against South Carolina.

Georgia Football vs. Samford Bulldogs odds and betting pick for Week 1:

The current odds have Georgia as 52.5-point favorites over Samford on FanDuel. This large set of odds may seem daunting, but the Dawgs will be able to handle them.

Fan Duel has the spread odds currently listing Samford at -112, so you can bet $100 and win $89.29. As for Georgia, their spread odds now sit at -108, so if you bet $100, you would only bring home $92.59.

The current over/under line is 65.5 points, sitting at -110, meaning you bet $110 to win $100. While the Dawgs will hang some points on the Bulldogs, 65.5 points is a lot for head coach Kirby Smart to lay on a former boss.

Georgia could cover the spread, but look for Georgia to keep it under 60-points. However, it could be smart to take the over if Samford finds a way to score on the Dawgs. The under/over bet could go either way, but taking the under may be smarter for this situation.

What channel is the Georgia Bulldogs game on Week 1:

The Dawgs’ game will be on the SEC Network, and kickoff is at 4 p.m. ET. It’s crazy that this matchup has a later kickoff time than next week’s SEC opener, but it’s a great time. This kickoff gives fans enough time to tailgate, but it isn’t too late.

However, with the rain in the forecast this week, tailgating will be wet. These Dawg fans don’t care, though, because it’s the first game of the season, and they will enjoy it.
