Georgia football is the biggest threat in the SEC because while Tennessee and Alabama are currently getting the spotlight, the Dawgs are getting better and continue to get underestimated. Other teams can doubt the Dawgs because that is usually when they bite the hardest.

There is a target on Georgia’s back — Kent State and Missouri showed that, but those two games also proved that the Dawgs are young. Georgia may have beat the breaks off Oregon and South Carolina, but there is still a lot of work to do, and those “struggle” games showed that.

However, that doesn’t mean the Dawgs aren’t worth repeating or someone that Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky or even Mississippi State should overlook as we get into the last half of the season. The Dawgs are still very much a threat and one that could prove worthy of back-to-back playoff appearances.

Anyone who thinks that Georgia isn’t capable of making it to the playoffs or even contending with Alabama in the SEC Championship Game will be sadly mistaken.

Georgia football is the biggest threat in the SEC on both sides of the conference.

Tennessee has an elite offense, and Alabama continues to find ways to win. Georgia is also finding ways to win but has this factor about them — tenacity. So many opposing fans doubt the Dawgs, and there are some Georgia fans who are probably doing the same. When head coach Kirby Smart took the job, one of the biggest things was learning how to trust the process with him. Seven years later, that still holds true today — Georgia fans must trust the process.

That process is in motion for this young team of guys who are finding their way. Starting quarterback Stetson Bennett is a leader, yes, but the guys around him are still growing up and improving. Not to mention, the injury bug is back and biting harder than ever. The Dawgs are improvising and using that next-man-up mentality. So far, it has paid off and worked well for Georgia, but they will have to sharpen their skills moving forward.

Whether others want to believe it or not, Georgia is still a threat in the SEC. If the Dawgs can get the right people healthy and keep finding ways to win, it’ll only take two good games to win back-to-back national championships.

That statement sounds like it’ll be a walk in the park, but it won’t. Georgia will have to get through the toughest part of its schedule and take down Alabama in the SEC Championship Game or whoever may make it to Atlanta if the Tide doesn’t. It won’t be easy, but winning isn’t easy, and it doesn’t come to those who expect it.
