Georgia football should not get comfortable being No.1 in the country, but after that 55-0 win over the Commodores, the AP Poll kept them in that top spot.

Some even thought that Tennessee’s win over Alabama could elevate them to the top, but it didn’t, as the Dawgs did more than enough to prove why they are the top-ranked team in the country.

This college football season has been so much fun because each week brings more excitement. Week 7 saw five ranked teams go down as turmoil hit once again. Utah taking down USC by one point was such a ballsy win by the Utes. They went for two instead of sending it to overtime, and it paid off for them.

Georgia football holds at No.1 in the AP Top-25 Poll after a wild Week 7.

Oklahoma State fell to TCU, who, at this point, should run the BIG12 conference the rest of the way. That offense is unstoppable. Penn State lost to Michigan, as the Wolverines handled their business first thing on Saturday.

Syracuse stays perfect on the season as they took down NC State. Oklahoma took down Kansas, and Georgia Southern beat James Madison. This week was everything a college football fan would want, and the best part was seeing the Crimson Tide lose a 15-year winning streak.

Here is the new AP Top-10 after Week 7:

  1. Georgia
  2. Ohio State
  3. Tennessee
  4. Michigan
  5. Clemson
  6. Alabama
  7. Ole Miss
  8. TCU
  9. UCLA
  10. Oregon

Georgia’s win over Oregon in Week 1 looks better as the season continues, which likely helped the Dawgs stay on top. However, Tennessee showed the world they’re not playing this season and gave Alabama everything it could handle.

That matchup between the Dawgs and Vols on Nov. 5 could end up being one of the biggest games in the 2022 season. Seeing them and Alabama switch places in the poll was only fitting.

Georgia finally did what it was supposed to against a weaker opponent — blow them out. The Dawgs showed no mercy to the Commodores and have outscored them 117-0 in the last two meetings.

Ohio State had a bye week, so they shouldn’t have dropped, but Tennessee is knocking on their door to take that No.2 spot. This football season shows us fans why college is better than the NFL.

Georgia fans should enjoy being No.1 for the next two weeks as the Dawgs are off for Week 8. The Dawgs have a tough stretch to close out the regular season, with a trip to Jacksonville first on the docket. Let’s hope the Dawgs put together a similar victory as they just delivered to Vanderbilt.
