Georgia football picked up another 2024 commitment as three-star quarterback Ryan Puglisi announced he picked the Dawgs over Alabama and a few other teams. Don’t let that three-star ranking deter you — this young man is a slightly shorter version of Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen.

Puglisi is not quite on everyone’s radar, but he should be by the end of his junior season. This guy has so much power and strength. He plays baseball too, so the arm strength is real. Despite being a few inches shorter than the NFL quarterback, the way, Puglisi carries himself and his physical play are very reminiscent of Allen. After watching a few minutes of his film, it isn’t hard to compare the two — there are even some Zach Wilson qualities about Puglisi’s game.

Georgia has already shown us multiple times that rankings don’t always matter when it comes to playmakers. Puglisi is a junior, he has another year of high school, so there is still time for him to move up the rankings — for those who still care about those rankings.

The Dawgs have a fully loaded quarterback room, but Puglisi adds depth past Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton. He fits right into the room with those guys, so it’s an excellent pickup.

Georgia football knows a good quarterback when they see one, and Ryan Puglisi is the next one to commit.

Puglisi is 6-3 and 200-pounds, so obviously, he isn’t as big as Allen, but he looks like a compact version of the elite NFL quarterback. His mobility in the pocket and awareness is similar to Allen’s. The Wilson comparisons are really obvious because of his height, strength, and release. It’s like the perfect mixture of both NFL quarterbacks into this one player.

His arm strength is ridiculous. Puglisi has a Bazooka for an arm and can make any throw on the field. However, his touch on the ball makes it so impressive to watch. He isn’t just strong but accurate, throwing around a 70% completion rate. I really like his quick release and his ability to throw on the run. Puglisi has great mechanics and throwing motion.

We won’t even go into what he does on the baseball field, but it does include a 93-miles-per-hour fastball. Puglisi is an athlete with a great work ethic, which also reminds us of Allen. He is a stud with a high upside. That three-star ranking doesn’t matter, but he will continue to climb up those rankings the more he plays.

There is a reason that Georgia and Alabama offered him immediately after Puglisi worked out for them. The guy has talent, tenacity, a great work ethic and he is exceptional. Georgia got him, and it’s a huge pickup for the Dawgs. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise about this player — Pugs is the real deal.
