Georgia football: Kirby Smart sends blunt message to the fans
Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart wasted no time sending a message to the fanbase ahead of the Tennessee game. The coach took to Twitter to let the entire Dawg nation know what he needs from them, and it’s a request we all know must happen.
Tennessee is coming into this game with so much confidence, but we all know it’s in Athens, so there is an advantage. Who cares if they have a bigger stadium, Georgia fans must be louder than they were at the Notre Dame game, the LSU game, and back to the first blackout game. We’re talking louder than you were against Arkansas in 2021, and it’s possible.
This game has so much riding on it. Georgia knows it can call on its fans to be loud and proud. The Dawg fans are a great bunch and know how to make an atmosphere absolutely imposing. All of the big Tennessee games have been at Neyland Stadium, outside the LSU game, so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out for the Vols without that home-field advantage.
Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart challenges his fans to be the loudest they have ever been.
Do not sell your tickets to Tennessee fans if you cannot attend this game. If you can go to this game, you better be ready to lose your voice. Georgia needs its fans to be as loud as possible. We’ve seen how important fan noise can be to a game, so this is the next challenge. For Smart to publically issue a statement, it means something.
Georgia has been on this stage — ESPN College GameDay is in town to witness the No.1 overall team take on another ranked opponent. However, it’s a top 3 matchup, which holds a lot more weight than a top-10 one — not by much, but it still does. Tennessee hasn’t been on this stage in a while, so this game has a lot weighing on it.
You heard Smart, be loud, and if you have a voice after this game, it wasn’t enough. Georgia fans, I know you can accept this challenge and succeed. The Dawgs need you, and if we can be a force alongside this talented team, Georgia can win this ballgame. Georgia can win it anyway, but having the crowd as a factor gives the Dawgs an even bigger advantage.
