Georgia football earned its style points in the win column

Eleven games up and 11 games down in the win column for the 2022 Georgia football team. The Dawgs also concluded conference play with their second-straight 8-0 record. The only thing standing between Georgia and another 12-0 regular season is the trade school over in Atlanta, Georgia Tech.
Against Kentucky, Georgia did not light up the scoreboard. The Dawgs didn’t put up the offensive numbers Bulldog Nation is used to seeing after the first 10 games. However, that is OK. As the late Al Davis used to say, “Just win, baby.”
Georgia does not need “style points.” The Dawgs just need to win. Especially when you look at the schedule, they have gone through since their bye weekend. While some people think Georgia hasn’t played anyone, it was still a challenging stretch to finish out the SEC portion of the season.
Florida in Jacksonville, Tennessee in Athens, and road trips to Starkville and Lexington. Look at the travel miles and the different offense styles they have had to prepare for. The Georgia defense has not flinched.
Georgia football doesn’t need style points like other teams do.
The last two games have not only been on the road, but both have been in freezing temperatures. What does Georgia do? The Dawgs keep playing elite defense and keep winning.
Georgia is on the doorstep of history. This group can win the SEC Championship and a national championship — something the 2021 team could not do. They could go 15-0, something only LSU in 2019 and Clemson in 2018 have done.
Style points only matter when you’re looking from the outside in, and sometimes those aren’t even enough to get a team in the top 4. Georgia did its job by staying undefeated through the most challenging part of its schedule, and now it’s about staying undefeated. Who cares how Georgia wins games as long as they get the victory?
This group of Dawgs has solidified their spot in the playoffs, so now all they need to do is “win, baby.”
