Georgia football is on the hunt for more receivers to add depth and even more playmakers at that position, and Mississippi State transfer RaRa Thomas is one of the top names on that list.
The Dawgs could see a handful of guys leave out of that room, so adding more is a huge priority. Experienced receivers will help the Dawgs too, which is why Thomas is one of the top guys for Georgia.
He would make a great fit in Athens and is one of a few receivers we will highlight for why they need to come to play for Georgia. Thomas is a stud and someone that Georgia can use to elevate its passing game without sacrificing the current receivers in that room.
Georgia football is a perfect spot for RaRa Thomas.
At 6-2 and 200 pounds, Thomas is a great size receiver. He is a great deep threat. Throughout two seasons with the Bulldogs, Thomas has 62 catches for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those are great numbers for someone moving into their third year in college ball because this upcoming season could be a monstrous one for him.
This year alone, Thomas has 44 catches for 626 yards and seven scores. He improved his numbers drastically from a freshman to his sophomore campaign. Imagining him working with Bryan McClendon makes us feel like those numbers could be even better.
Thomas recently visited Athens on a recruiting trip, and since then, the Dawgs have been trending upward for him. Penn State is one of his options, and Thomas is keeping them open for now, but if Georgia is smart, they will wrap him up sooner rather than later.
Georgia needs more receivers like Thomas so they can really use the passing game as it should be. While this year’s passing attack has been strong, a lot of it has come from behind the line of scrimmage, and with Thomas, we could stretch it even more downfield. If Georgia adds him, he will make a great addition. He and Adonai Mitchell lining up opposite of each other would really pose a threat. Not to mention, the Dawgs still have Brock Bowers to help out.
Thomas fits with the Dawgs, and with Todd Monken running the offense, he will get receptions. He will have those stats he needs to impress NFL scouts. Georgia and Thomas make for a great fit, so the Dawgs need to make it happen.
