Ladd McConkey is your new favorite player if you are a Frozen custard and Georgia football fan.

Freddy’s announced today a partnership awarding N.I.L  deals to ten collegiate athletes in Kansas, Georgia, Texas, and Colorado. Georgia football’s own Ladd McConkey and Georgia Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper Jordan Brown are two of the ten athletes they signed for the N.I.L. award. McConkey shared the news via Instagram.

Freddy’s is a fast-food chain founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002. Freddy’s is known for Its steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, and frozen custard treats. Freddy’s has 20 locations in the state of Georgia. One of the locations being Athens, it seemed only right the fast-food chain would have a Georgia football star team up.

Ladd McConkey went from an afterthought to a household name. McConkey has been a steady player for Georgia Football since he stepped on campus in 2020. McConkey was redshirted that season, but since getting a chance to play in 2021, McConkey has been one of the best receivers in the country. Just last season, McConkey got a career-high of 58 receptions, 7 TDs, and 762 yards receiving. McConkey was named all-SEC this pre-season and has been on the Biletnikoff Award’s watchlist. The award is given out annually to the top receiver in college football.

However, McConkey has been sidelined by a back injury to start the 2023 season for the Dawgs. Kirby Smart was asked if McConkey would be able to go this week, and Smart said that he was day-to-day. So, hopefully, the receiver will be able to go this Saturday.

I don’t know how much McConkey got for signing the deal. But getting free frozen custard from Freddy’s would be fine with me.

Freddy’s will partner with the athletes to share their menu favorites on social media channels and on the brand’s website. So make sure you keep an eye out for Ladd’s favorite. I wonder if he is a Steakburger or a Hot Dog guy? I guess we will find out soon enough.

Next. Week 2 best bets and predictions. dark
