November 30, 1968: No. 4 Georgia keeps unbeaten season going against Georgia Tech, 47-8

Much like the 1942 game, Georgia Tech came into Athens with an upset-minded team who wanted to spoil the national championship party for Georgia.

Quarterback Mike Cavan and the Bulldogs had other ideas. Right from the start, it was all Georgia.

Cavan threw for 194 yards and added 208 rushing yards to spur the Georgia offense to a huge day against the Jackets, and Georgia’s defense only gave up 2 total rushing yards against a Tech team that lived and died by the run game.

On this day, they clearly died.

39 points was the biggest margin of victory by Georgia in the series to date at that time.
