Georgia Football is taking on Alabama for the SEC crown on Saturday. But other major games are being played around the country. Conference Championship games will one day be rendered useless because of the 12-team playoff. That is my hunch, at the very least.

But we should all enjoy this final week of football being played on Saturday. Soon, we will have to be stuck doing Christmas shopping and chores. All we have left is this last little bit before we are sucked in by the black hole that is Christmas. I apologize to those who like Christmas but hate the holidays. Bah, Humbug!

Speaking of being a grouch, I did awful last week. Thankfully, Ohio State covered against Michigan, or I would have been 0-3 on the week. I am 23-22 during the season—just one game above  .500. It was not a great start to the season, but I have been pretty hot on the back end of this thing. So I will take it. This week, I am ok with just going 2-1. That is all we need to stay above .500. Let’s get into some picks.

Oregon vs. Washington (+9.5) over/under 65.5- Ceasers

  • Date: December 1st, 2023

  • Venue: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas, NV)

This is the second matchup of these two schools this season. The last game was a massive one in Seattle. Both teams want to win this game; both need to win this game for a chance at the CFP playoff.

Oregon is trending upward, and Washington is trending downward. That is the narrative coming into this game. Oregon is a good football team, and they play complementary football. Washington is an okay team with a great college quarterback. This game gets another layer with the Heisman Trophy at stake. Nix and Penix are in a three-person race with Jayden Daniels for the Heisman. Right now, Nix is the favorite to win the Heisman, but if Penix plays excellent Friday night, he could win it.

I must go with my gut here; I do not think Washington is a good football team. Oregon is the better team, and they should win the game. Oregon should have won the first matchup, and it is so hard to beat a team twice in one season. I don’t like taking that many points, but I think the Ducks win by ten or more. So give me Oregon and the over.

Texas vs. Oklahoma State (+15.5) over/under 55.0- Ceasers

Texas could be a better football team. Well, they are not an elite team. They are not deserving of a playoff spot. But the national media loves some Texas Longhorns, and they will tell you they should be in the CFP Playoffs with a win. I was convinced Oklahoma State could win this game a few weeks ago. Now, after time has passed and we see what Oklahoma State has done, I am wavering.

Oklahoma State can do something great for the rest of the college football world: knock off Texas. Nobody needs Texas around in the CFP Playoff. I say all of this because I hate Texas. I hate their fans, and I hate their stupid traditions. That cow that they have almost murdered our dog, I have zero respect for anything burnt orange. I also had my heart broken by a Texas girl, and I still hold a grudge. It is nice to know they are miserable every time Texas loses.

One of my best friends was a huge Oklahoma State fan growing up. I converted and recruited him to attend the University of Georgia, and he eventually did.  Even though he graduated from Georgia, you can’t take the Okie out of him. He told me 15.5 points is too much for Texas to cover, and he thinks the Pokes will win. So, I will listen to his advice and go with Oklahoma State to cover.

Louisville vs. Florida State  (-2.5) over/under 47.5- Ceasers

Boy, does the ACC Suck or what? It stinks to high heaven. How can the conference be this bad? Louisville got crushed by one of the worst teams in the SEC, Kentucky. The Cardinals were at home and were up big in the 2nd half and lost! How embarrassing! Flordia State was struggling with Flordia. Florida!

It took a Florida player to spit on an FSU player to jump-start the offense. Should we sit here and talk about how FSU deserves a playoff spot? The Noles beat a mediocre LSU team. An LSU team that cannot play defense! But if they win this game, do they get into the playoffs? The whole CFP playoff system is screwed up anyway, so what does it matter.

I had to get all of that off my chest; thank you. Anyway, this game is a toss-up. I will take Louisville so we do not discuss whether FSU deserves to be in the playoffs. If Georgia wins on Saturday, I will pull for FSU so the Dawgs can get that matchup in the Sugar Bowl. Do you want to see a splattering? There is going to be one if that happens.

Beck could be a $1 million arm for the Dawgs. light. Read
