Are Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey playing in the SEC championship game?

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs just need one more win to make their fourth straight College Football Playoff and continue the quest for a three-peat. However, they could be without quarterback Carson Beck’s two favorite targets for the SEC championship game against No. 8 Alabama.
Both Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, along with wide receiver Rara Thomas, missed Georgia’s rivalry game against Georgia Tech last week, but all three might be trending towards playing in the SEC title game. When asked about their availability for Saturday, Kirby Smart didn’t have many answers.
“I’m still trying to figure that out myself,” Smart said on Thursday “They have not been able to do a lot. Each one has worked kind of independently.”
Bowers missed time earlier in the season after having a tightrope procedure on his ankle but is officially listed with an undisclosed injury. McConkey missed the start of the season with a separate injury but suffered a low-ankle sprain against Ole Miss in Week 11, which kept him out each of the last two weeks.
Bowers leads the team in receptions with 51 and receiving yards with 661, despite missing three games. McConkey has been less productive because of his limited availability with 26 grabs for 418 yards.
If neither can play, then Dominic Lovett, the Missouri transfer, will likely be Beck’s top target. He has 49 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns this year. He is more of a possession receiver than a downfield threat like McConkey.
Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey injury status:
Brock Bowers is listed as QUESTIONABLE for the SEC championship game with an undisclosed injury.
