After spending one year at Miami, Carson Beck was drafted in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. While this is a very respectable place for any player to be drafted, it raised serious questions about if transferring to Miami was the right call because of how much his draft stock tanked over the past year.
Regardless, he is off to Arizona where he will have a chance to win the starting job this year.
With the 2026 draft complete people are already beginning to project what the 2027 NFL Draft could like look. The below mock draft was the first one released this weekend and it predicts that Beck's career will get off to an extremely rocky start.

2027 NFL mock draft predicts disastrous start to Carson Beck's career
If Beck is the quarterback of the future for Arizona then why would they take another quarterback in the very next draft? Maybe they need a backup for him, but why would they take someone with the No. 1 overall pick?
Hold on a second, why does Arizona even have the No. 1 overall pick? This would mean that Arizona had the worst record in the NFL and Beck was a failed experiment this year.
Georgia fans may have mixed emotions after seeing this. Sure he was an easy person to dislike after he ditched Georgia for Miami, but everyone, including Beck, has moved on from that. So maybe it is time to start supporting him, after all he did help Georgia win a lot of games when he was in Athens.
2027 mock drafts will change a lot throughout the next year, but this suggests that Beck won't be finding success in Arizona anytime soon. Maybe he will prove everyone wrong, but for now there are a lot of people doubting him as he begins his NFL career.
