247Sports, On3 have mixed feelings about Georgia in their Top 25 rankings

Where should Georgia football be ranked heading into next season?

Georgia football fans are usually very high on the Bulldogs every offseason as they wait for the next season to begin, but things feel a little different so far this offseason. The Bulldogs are coming off a somewhat average season that saw them win the SEC, but still lose two regular season games and fall short in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Georgia has also seen a lot of turnover to their roster this offseason while also adding a lot of new faces as well. Add all of that together and it is nearly impossible to know how UGA will do next season. But even if all of that is the case, expectations for Georgia are still sky high, which they should be.

But how do people outside of Georgia feel about the Bulldogs chances next season? On3 and 247Sports both just released their "Way Too Early" top 25 rankings for next season, and they slightly disagree on their outlooks for Georgia next year.

Which ranking is more accurate?

It's very difficult to get a good read on Georgia going into next season. It's scary anytime a program has to break in a new starting quarterback as that usually is a sign that a team will take even a small step backwards. And unfortunately for Georgia, they are going to have to break in a new QB after Carson Beck decided to transfer to Miami (FL).

However, that fact doesn't seem to have impacted On3 or 247Sports' rankings too much.

While it is nice to see 247Sports be so high on Georgia heading into next season, most Georgia fans would likely agree that No. 2 is a little too high. The Bulldogs definitely belong inside the top 10, but being the second best team without even knowing who the starting quarterback will be is a little bullish.

So On3's ranking with Georgia at No. 6 is probably the most accurate from Georgia's perspective, but even they have some insane rankings. Illinois at No. 7? Auburn at No. 11? Michigan at No. 12? Those rankings alone put a large question mark on the entire ranking as a whole.

But Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs at No. 6 seems more than fair and likely not anything Georgia fans would be upset about.
