3 Bulldogs who must play out of their minds for Georgia to topple No. 1 Texas

Everyone needs to play well for Georgia on Saturday, but these three Bulldogs in particular need to play out of their minds.

Georgia's showdown at No. 1 Texas is almost here. The anticipation continues to climb as this game has the attention of the entire college football world. Georgia once again has a primetime slot with College GameDay in town, but this time they are the underdogs for the first time since 2021.

How will they respond to being predicted to lose for the first time in some of these players careers? Will members of the team step up to help take down the No. 1 team in the country?

Clearly the entire team is going to have to play well if they want to win, but these three players in my mind need to play out of their minds if Georgia is going to pull of this road upset.

1. DL Mykel Williams

Texas has a very explosive offense. That means Georgia's defense is going to have to find a way to manufacture some pressure on Texas QB Quinn Ewers to try and slow down the Longhorns' offense.

Sacking the quarterback has been a problem for Georgia's defense this season as they only have 11 sacks as a team. They are also coming off a game against Mississippi State where they had a grand total of zero.

Zero sacks will likely not result in a win against Texas.

So the one person I'm looking at the most to help get more pressure on the QB is defensive lineman Mykel Williams. Williams is yet record a sack this season, so I am hoping he gets his first against the Longhorns on Saturday. But it isn't the end of the world if he doesn't, as long as he is getting regular pressure on Ewers.

This pressure will really help Georgia's secondary, and we all know how much that unit has been struggling recently. So a sack from Williams would be great, but as long as he is constantly getting to Ewers while also plugging up running holes then that will be a very porductive game for Williams.
