The bye week is a hard week for college football fans that root for a specific team. For Georgia Bulldogs fans, that comes early this year. In week four, Georgia has their first bye week of the season as they prepare to face the Crimson Tide in Athens next Saturday.
While Georgia fans won't be able to watch their team play this Saturday, there are still plenty of games that'll be worth the watch. Specifically, three games this upcoming Saturday can determine a lot about Georgia's future.
Auburn vs Oklahoma
Auburn going on the road to face Oklahoma is going to be more impactful than many people give credit for. Oklahoma has started their 2025 campaign firing on all cylinders and coming off a massive home win against Michigan. However, they have yet to face a team equally as talented as Auburn.
Auburn went out in the transfer portal and found their guy in QB Jackson Arnold. In week one of the season, they had their best offensive game in recent memory and put on a show against Baylor on the road. This team is comfortable and ready for the challenge. With this being Auburn's first SEC test, it'll be important for Georgia fans to see if this team truly is one to circle on the calendar.
Florida vs Miami
There is no question Florida has struggled to start the season. Throwing 5 interceptions in a single game is unheard of in Gainesville, even with the struggles they've had in the past few years. DJ Lagway is supposed to be their guy, and so far, he has been a mess.
Florida does not have any more time to spare to figure things out as they travel again for a hostile road game, this time against Miami. Miami has an even more electric offense than LSU does, so this game could get out of hand quick. However, Georgia fans need to keep an eye on this game for Lagway. He has the talent to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country. If he does finally figure it out, the Gators are a team to be reckoned with.
And it also doesn't hurt to see how Carson Beck is doing with the Hurricanes either.
Sam Houston vs Texas
This game being on this list will definitely come as a shock to people. Yes, Texas will still win this game and more than likely by a wide margin. It is not about whether or not Texas wins, but how they play in the game.
So far this season, Texas has not had any shining moments to feel positive about this season other than some good defensive play against Ohio State week one. Arch Manning has seen some early struggles when fans predicted he would come out the door swinging for a Heisman. Now that this young quarterback has a few games under his belt, he should be starting to get comfortable in this offense.
Manning threw an interception and less than 50 percent completion percentage last week against UTEP. That won't fly against SEC competition. This game will be the last one before the Longhorns have to face SEC teams for eight straight weeks to end the season, so it is crucial to see if Texas has finally figured it out, or if they will have a long season of disappointment ahead.
