The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of an impressive win against the Ole Miss Rebels in week eight of the college football season. Now looking ahead into week nine, the Bulldogs are on bye before they face the Florida Gators in week 10.
While the Bulldogs might not be playing, there are still plenty of games going on that will impact their season in a big way.
1. Texas A&M vs LSU
Texas A&M still remains undefeated thus far in 2025. The Aggies have had one of the best runs in college football. However, their first true test will be against the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.
Though LSU is coming off a tough loss against Vanderbilt, they still have one of the toughest defenses in the country. That along with the crowd atmosphere will be the toughest challenge Texas A&M has faced this season.
For Georgia to have a chance at the SEC Championship, they will need either the Aggies or Alabama to drop an SEC game before the regular season is over. Don't be surprised if Texas A&M drops this one to the Tigers.
2. Ole Miss vs Oklahoma
Georgia came through and won a crucial game against Ole Miss in Athens last week. That win for the Bulldogs pushed them up to third in conference standings. However, for the looks of the CFP committee, Ole Miss is now Georgia's best win on the season.
For that win to look even better, the Rebels need to get a win in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday. If Ole Miss does drop that game, Oklahoma inches closer to Georgia for that third spot in the conference standings. A lot more could be riding on this game for Georgia than what might catch the eye at first.
3. Alabama vs South Carolina
Georgia's only loss on the season thus far is to Alabama. With that being said, even if Alabama loses an SEC game they hold the tiebreaker against Georgia. If a Georgia fan wants to play Alabama for the SEC Championship, root against Texas A&M to lose just one SEC game. If you want Georgia to face Texas A&M or another SEC team, some chaos is going to need to happen against the Tide.
Though it would be chaos, it is not far-fetched. Alabama still has to face LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn, and South Carolina. This week, the challenge will be to play the Gamecocks in Williams-Brice Stadium. Though South Carolina has not met expectations this year, playing at South Carolina is hard for any team.
This game could be closer than experts think it will be.
