The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings are right around the corner. Georgia at this point in the season has one of the strongest resumes in the country, but they still have work to do to lock in their spot in the 12-team playoff field.

So what can Georgia do to help improve their standing with the CFP committee? Knowing what’s been important to the committee in year’s past, they likely are looking for Georgia to answer these three questions the rest of the season.

1. Can Georgia stack more marquee victories?

Georgia has two very strong victories so far this season. Those wins came on the road to Tennessee and at home against Ole Miss this past weekend, but two marquee victories isn’t quite enough for UGA.

The CFP committee will be looking at Georgia to see if they can add one more marquee win to their resume to secure their spot in the 12-team field. That win could come against Texas, Georgia Tech or in the SEC Championship game, but either way Georgia needs to win one more big game to take their resume to the next level.

2. Will Georgia dominate the bad teams on their schedule?

On top of earning another win over a good team, Georgia also needs to handle their business against the lesser opponents on their schedule as well. Can Georgia dominate them and show they can flex their muscles when they need to?

Mississippi State and Charlotte are those two opportunities for Georgia left on their schedule. Florida is even a team UGA should dominate to an extent as well. These are games the committee is expecting Georgia to win comfortably, so it is up to them to actually go do it.

3. Can Georgia get revenge against Alabama?

If Georgia makes the SEC Championship game, Alabama will likely be the team sitting their waiting for them. The committee, and the rest of the country for that matter, will desperately want to know if UGA can finally knock off the Crimson Tide.

Georgia already lost to Alabama this season, so getting revenge against the team who looks like the best team in the country would do wonders for their resume.

The first College Football Playoff rankings are scheduled to be released on Tuesday, Nov. 4. So Georgia has one more opportunity against Florida before then to show the committee what they’re made of. But the committee will have a close eye on Georgia for the rest of the season, and they will be looking to see UGA answer these three questions.
