Well folks, Georgia football has moved to 5-1 this season after a 41-31 win over Mississippi State on Saturday. The old saying goes that a win's a win, but this win doesn't feel all that great.

I won't sit here and tell you that everything was bad, that actually would be the furthest thing from the truth. But it's clear that Georgia has a lot of work to do before next week when they hit the road to take on the No. 1 team in the country.

But before we turn out collective attention to Texas, here are the three biggest takeaways that stuck out to me during Georgia's win over Mississippi State.

1. Hello Carson Beck

What a performance from QB Carson Beck. In a game where I wouldn't have guessed Gerogia would need a career performance from their QB, I sure am thankful that is what he gave us.

Beck finished the game completing 36 of 48 passes for 459 yards and three touchdowns. That performance is good enough for a career high in both completions and passing yards for Beck.

Beck wasn't perfect as he did throw two interceptions with one coming in the endzone, but it is easy to forgive him for those turnovers when he puts up these kind of stats.

To be honest I never thought Beck had this kind of performance in him. Don't get me wrong, I've always had a lot of confidence in him, but I never viewed him as a guy who could win a game on his own for Georiga. Now saying he can win a game on his own may be a stretch, but this performance has to make you feel that way even just a little.

And what a time for Beck to have a career night when the Georgia defense gave up 31 points. This was extremely nice to see from Beck because it shows us that even if UGA's defense has an off night they can count on Beck and the offense to score enough points to win the game. Let's just hope Georgia doesn't have to rely on the offense too much going forward.
