3 things Georgia football must do to beat Texas
Georgia football is preparing to take on the No. 1 team in the country when they travel to Texas this Saturday. These are the games that you come to Georgia to play, so I know nobody on the team will be intimidated. But even though no Bulldog will be scared, they still are going to have a tough time winning this game.
Kirby Smart’s squad currently are small underdogs in this game, which only speaks to how many things they’re going to have to do well if they want to win.
So here are three things I think Georgia will have to do to knock off the No. 1 team in the country.
1. Start fast
Georgia has been having issues with slow starts all season. So far this year UGA has scored 27 points in the first quarter which is only averaging 4.5 first quarter points per game.
Georgia did score 10 first quarter points in their win against Mississippi State which is solid, but they still started slow by throwing an interception on their second offensive play of the game.
So one of the most important things against Texas Georgia has to do is to start fast. The Longhorns are capable of scoring in a a hurry, so UGA has to keep up with them so the game doesn’t get out of hand. A fast start will also take the Texas crowd out of the game which makes life easier for Georgia.
So if any one thing has to happen on Saturday I would say that a quick start is a requirement if Georgia is going to win.
