Georgia football and Kirby Smart are looking to move to 4-1 on the season on Saturday against the Kentucky Wildcats.

UGA has left a lot to be desired so far this season on both sides of the ball. In order to have more confidence on both sides of the ball the rest of the season, they need to dominate Kentucky like Vegas thinks they should.

For Georgia to put their best foot forward for the remainder of the season, here are three things they must prove against Kentucky on Saturday.

1. They can start fast

Georgia has had a major problem with starting fast this season. In fact, that issue was present throughout the 2024 season as well. This problem for the Bulldogs unfortunately has hit an all time high to start this season.

Three weeks ago Tennessee destroyed Georgia out of the gate. The Volunteers put up 21 points compared to Georgia's seven before anyone could even blink. UGA was still able to win, but that was not the case against Alabama after yet another terrible start.

Georgia needs to show that they can start fast on Saturday against Kentucky. Not only will this allow them to cruise to victory against the Wildcats, but it will also give them a lot of confidence going forward.

2. Their defense can force a turnover

One of the biggest problems with Georgia's defense this season is that they haven't forced very many turnovers. The Bulldogs failed to force one turnover against Alabama last week, and if they had come up with one there is a good chance Georgia would have won that game.

It's hard to beat really good teams without forcing at least one turnover, so Georgia is going to need to figure out how get some takeaways against Kentucky and the rest of their competition the remainder of this season if they want to make a run at the SEC title.

3. Their offense can stay consistent all game

Gunner Stockton and Georgia's offense has had moments where they have been lights out this season. Every game so far there were a few quarters where the opposing defense had zero answers on how to slow the Bulldogs down.

But at the same time, there were stretches in every game where Georgia's offense was nonexistent.

No one should expect Georgia to be perfect and score on every drive, but they overall need to be more consistent. They need to move the ball down the field more consistently, so even if they don't score on a drive they can help flip the field to aid their defense.

The path towards more consistent play begins against Kentucky where Georgia's offense should have no issues moving the ball all game long.
