Georgia football's fall camp is in the books as they have officially entered game week for their season opener against Tennessee State later this week. The Bulldogs are yet to release their first depth chart of the season, but fall camp revealed a lot of intel on whose stock is rising and whose is falling heading into the season.
Three players stood out specifically for having a great fall camp, but there are a couple players who left a lot to be desired.
Winner: RB Dwight Phillips
Georgia's top two running backs for the upcoming season were seemingly set with Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens returning for another season, but Dwight Phillips made a serious push for more playing time this fall. In fact, he even got some reps with the first team during fall camp.
Phillips already had a solid season in 2025 in his limited role. He tallied 210 yards on the ground in just 35 carries which comes out to six yards per carry. If he keeps that up it will be impossible to keep him off the field.
Phillips still has work to do to pass Frazier or Bowens on Georgia's depth chart, but he most likely has earned far more than 35 carries this year.
Loser: QB Ryan Puglisi
Ryan Puglisi was expected to be Georgia's backup quarterback this season simply because he was last year. He however has not earned that spot less than one week out from their first game.
Ryan Montgomery was No. 3 on the Bulldogs' depth chart last season, and he apparently has been closing in on Puglisi during fall camp. Montgomery hasn't passed Puglisi yet, but the fact that Kirby Smart isn't settled on a backup yet shows Puglisi didn't live up to expectations.
Puglisi more than likely will be Georgia's backup for their week one game against Tennessee State, but Montgomery not only has a chance to take that job from him but he could be Georgia's starter next season.
Winner: DB Ellis Robinson
Ellis Robinson may be Georgia's most talented player on the defensive side of the ball this season. He is being projected to be a first round draft pick at the 2027 NFL Draft, next year and throughout fall camp he has lived up to the hype.
Robinson has made life extremely difficult for Georgia's receivers in fall camp, more to come on that, and has snagged interceptions nearly every day in practice. He has to bring this success onto the field during the regular season, but throughout fall camp he showed that he is the superstar everyone is expecting him to be.
Loser: Georgia's WR room
Georgia's wide receiver room is young and inexperienced. That doesn't mean they are bad, but they have had a lot of issues throughout fall camp most notably with catching the ball.
The wide receiver room has had multiple practices this fall where many of the guys in the room were dropping multiple passes. They also struggled to get open at times, and if that continues Gunner Stockton could face some significant challenges throwing the ball down the field.
Georgia's struggles at wide receiver might have more to do with how talented their secondary is, so hopefully going up against a tough defense every day in practice will make the games feel that much easier.
Winner: TE Kaiden Prothro
Kaiden Prothro was one of Georgia's top commits from their incoming freshman class. He was a five-star tight end coming out of high school, but Georgia has reportedly switched him to wide receiver this fall already.
Part of this change has to do with him not being quite ready to block as a tight end, but more importantly this change has to do with the matchup nightmare he is for opposing defenses. He is 6'6'' and a freak athlete capable of running routes at a high level already, and even the best defensive backs in the country could struggle defending that.
Prothro could be the answer Georgia needs at wide receiver this season since so many of their receivers have been struggling in camp, but only time will tell.
