Four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks just shared a massive update in his recruitment. So far this June, he has taken official visits to both Georgia and Alabama while also having two more visits scheduled with Texas and USC.
However, Brooks appears to have seen what he needs to see to make his final decision as he has officially named Georgia and Alabama as his two finalists while also cancelling his upcoming visits with Texas and USC.

Georgia has slim lead over Alabama for Brooks
This update to Brooks' recruitment really isn't all that surprising because experts have claimed Georgia and Alabama were the clear leaders in this recruitment for some time now. However, since anything is possible in recruiting nowadays it was possible for Texas and USC to catch up if they got a chance to host Brooks on a visit, so thankfully that is not happening.
So where does Georgia stand with Brooks?
No official prediction has been placed in this recruitment yet, but On3 insider Chad Simmons believes the Bulldogs are the team to beat right now. After his visit to Georgia over the first weekend of June, Simmons shared, "I like where Georgia sits with Khamari Brooks."
It is important to note that this update was given before Brooks visited Alabama last weekend, so things could have changed since Simmons made this claim. Regardless, this race is extremely close between Georgia and Alabama with both teams having a great chance to come out on top.
Now that Brooks has cut his list down to Georgia and Alabama, a commitment could realistically come at any point from him. He has not shared what his timeline for a decision could be, but since he has taken an official visit to both programs he could be ready to commit.
And based on this update from Simmons, there is reason for Georgia fans to be hopeful when Brooks' does make his final decision.
