Georgia football is currently sitting with just five commits in their 2026 recruiting class. There was a chance that number was going to increase in the coming days as one of their priority targets, four-star corner Jorden Edmonds, was planning on announcing his commitment on Feb. 19.
Edmonds is the No. 97 overall player in the country and the No. 10 corner in his class, so it was a big deal when Edmonds announced that Georgia was one of his finalists for his upcoming commitment date. However, Sam Spiegelman with Rivals reported on Monday that Edmonds has pushed his commitment date back to an unknown date in the future.

This news is good for Georgia
There is no way to know for sure who Edmonds was leaning towards as his commitment date approached. Kirby Smart and his staff had to feel like they had a chance to win since Edmonds is an in-state recruit who took a visit to Athens in mid-January during Georgia's first Junior Day of the year.
However, the Bulldogs many not have been the favorite to win this recruitment as Alabama was the only team with a crystal ball prediction in their favor on 247Sports to win this recruitment. To be fair, there was only one prediction made, but it was logged on Feb. 10 which is one day after Edmonds originally announced his commitment date. So that insider may have been on to something.
Regardless, this news is good for Georgia because if it seemed like there was a real chance UGA would lose out to any school then the next best option is for the commitment to be delayed. This will give the Bulldogs time to continue recruiting Edmonds and try to move back to the top of the list, which is still a very real possibility at this point.
