Now that the football season is officially here, the news on the recruiting trail is beginning to die down. This is especially the case for Georgia as their 2026 recruiting class is already pretty full. But there will be a few more recruits Georgia continues to pursue, and some of their commits may show signs of being interested in other programs as well.
That unfortuantely is what is happening with four-star running back Jae Lamar, who committed to Georgia at the end of June. According to the below report, Lamar will be taking visits to a few other programs this fall, and rumor has it those programs are Auburn, Florida State and Miami (FL).

This obviously is a concerning report for Georgia fans to see, but Lamar did come out and confirm that he is still locked in with Georgia even with these upcoming visits.
“Who wouldn’t want to stay home and be an in-state running back at the University of Georgia?”

4-star RB is no longer acting like a Georgia commit
It is nice to hear that Lamar is still high on Georgia, but actions do speak louder than words. And Lamar’s actions do not show that he is 100 percent committed to Georgia right now.
If Lamar was locked in with Georgia like he claims, he wouldn’t be taking any additional visits to other schools. So the fact that he will be visiting other schools this fall shows that there are reasons for UGA fans to be nervous about his commitment going forward.
Georgia does appear to still be the heavy favorite in Lamar’s recruitment, but it no longer feels like a 100 percent guarantee he will end up a Bulldog after this report. So it will be interesting to see what happens next, because Lamar right now is sending Georgia some extremely mixed signals.
