This is not what you want to see.

It is not uncommon in recruiting nowadays for programs to continue to recruit Georgia football commits well after they announce their commitment to the Bulldogs. In fact, it would be strange and a little concerning if other programs weren’t showing interest in Georgia’s commits.

But there is a big difference between programs continuing to recruit Georgia’s commits and these recruits actually giving them the time of day. Unfortunately for Georgia, some of their commits in the 2026 class have been more than listening to the recruiting pitches from other programs.

Four-star safety commit Jontavius Wyman is the first Bulldog commit who’s been reported to be taking visits to other schools in the future. But he is being joined by another four-star commit according to On3.

4-star WR Vance Spafford

Vance Spafford is a four-star wide receiver who has been committed to Georgia since early November of last year. This is a commitment that UGA really wants to hold on to because he is one of the top players in the country. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Spafford is the No. 59 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2026 class and No. 10 player from his home state of California.

The bad news for Georgia with Spafford is that he is reportedly beginning to look at other schools and even has a visit coming up, according to On3. Steve Wiltfong with On3 reported that Spafford will be visiting USC this weekend and is also hearing a lot from Alabama and North Carolina. The fact that Spafford is hearing from other programs isn’t what’s concerning, it’s that he is taking this visit to USC. And for someone who is from California, it is very realistic for him to flip his commitment to the Trojans.

Hopefully Kirby Smart and his staff are able to hold on to this commitment, because losing Spafford would be a massive loss.
