It has been quite some time since Georgia has received some recruiting news, but that changed in a hurry on Friday night. Unfortunately this news was about as bad as it can get as UGA linebacker commit Nick Abrams will reportedly visit Michigan next month.

4-star Georgia LB commit schedules visit to Michigan

Abrams is a four-star linebacker who is the No. 237 overall player in the country, according to 247Sports. He also is the No. 14 linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 6 overall player from his home state of Maryland as well.

Abrams committed to Georgia over Alabama, Michigan and Oregon on July 16 after many thought UGA trailed in his recruitment a few weeks before this announcement. But Kirby Smart and his staff were able to get the job done and bring home his commitment. Unfortunately Georgia still has a lot of work to do because Abrams will be visiting Michigan next month.

Just because Abrams is visiting Michigan doesn't automatically mean he will flip to them though. This however is the first sign that his commitment is in jeopardy, so Smart and his staff will have to put in some extra work now if they want to hold on to his commitment. And based on his recruiting ranking alone, he is someone the Bulldogs won't want to lose without a fight.

The hope now is that Georgia will be able to convince Abrams to visit Athens again this season. This would be the perfect opportunity to remind him why he committed to UGA in the first place and why Michigan isn't the right fit for him.

But for now this is a recruitment to keep a close eye on because Abrams has quickly turned into the recruit most likely to flip from Georgia.
