Georgia finally gets back in the win column when it comes to recruiting as the Bulldogs just received a commitment from 4-star linebacker Nick Abrams. Abrams announced his commitment just recently, surrounded by his friends and family, live on the 247Sports YouTube channel, where he confidently selected the Georgia Bulldogs for his college career.
Abrams chose the Bulldogs over his three other top schools, Oregon, Alabama, and Michigan. Georgia seemed to be leading the pack, and the expected place Abrams would commit, especially after the Bulldogs lost 5-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson yesterday to the Texas Longhorns. Abrams will come in as the premier linebacker in the Class of 2026 after beginning his relationship with Georgia back in January of this year.
According to 247Sports, Abrams is the No. 296 player in the Class of 2026, the No. 19 linebacker in his class, and the No. 6 player in the state of Maryland. Even though Smart had a tough time keeping Atkinson in Georgia, he showed he can still go out and get elite talent outside of the state, and the proof is right here with Abrams.

Georgia lands commitment from 4-star linebacker Nick Abrams
Abrams had a solid junior season with McDonough School, and he is hoping to have an even better senior season. In his junior year, Abrams finished with 77 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, four sacks, an interception, and a blocked punt. He has another season to up his stats and maybe even his ranking nationally.
When making his commitment, Abrams talked about how he wanted to be coached by both Kirby Smart, who was a linebacker back in the day, and the rest of the Georgia coaching staff. However, football wasn't the only reason Abrams chose Georgia.
Abrams said he gets the best of both worlds as Georgia gets to play for a top-ranked program in the country, as well as getting an amazing education. The young linebacker talked about how Georgia has one of the best business schools in the country, so while he is being challenged on the field, he will also be challenged in the classroom.
To hear that from a young incoming high school senior means he could be one to stick around for the long haul at Georgia, which is exactly what Kirby Smart wants from his players.
