The madness of offseason recruiting is officially behind Georgia football, but there are still some hurdles they need to get over before the 2026 class reaches signing day in December. Potentially the biggest hurdle for UGA is holding steady with any one of their commits who may be looking to flip their commitment.

One candidate who some schools are beginning to pursue is four-star safety Tyriq Green, who committed to Georgia in mid-July. While it sounds like Green may have listened to the pitches from these other schools, a new report from On3 indicates that Green is not interested in them and is “locked in” with Georgia.

4-star safety has no plans of leaving Georgia

When Green originally committed to Georgia, he did so over Miami (FL) and rival Auburn. So even though this hasn’t been confirmed, it is likely that these two schools have remained in contact with Green and have been continuing to pursue him.

Regardless of who is going after Green, their efforts have officially come up short because Green is the latest Bulldog to officially shut his recruitment down.

Four-star Georgia running back commit Jae Lamar however recently shared the exact opposite as Green. Lamar recently said that he is still locked in with Georgia, but he does have a few visits planned to other schools this fall. Now that does not sound like someone who is fully committed to Georgia.

Thankfully this is something Georgia fans don’t have to worry about Green, which is a relief because he is a top 200 player in the country and the No. 9 ATH according to the 247Sports composite rankings. So the Bulldogs are clearly getting an extremely talented player in Green who thankfully is no longer going to listen to the recruiting pitches from other schools.
