Georgia football has been very active in the transfer portal in the first two days the portal has been open this spring. The Bulldogs haven't earned a commitment yet, but they are potentially trending that way with a few key transfers.
So far Georgia has gotten four visits on the books, with all four coming at serious positions of need. So let's dive right in and take a look at the four players currently scheduled to visit Georgia.
Georgia's first visitor
Georgia's first tranfer visiting is potentially the most exciting to date. This isn't because they are the highest ranked transfer, because the other three transfers on the books are all ranked higher. But the reason this visitor is so exciting to discuss is because the Bulldogs have already been predicted to land him.
Alabama A&M defensive lineman Sedrick Smith was already in Athens on a visit on Thursday, and 247Sports believes that visit is going extremely well. So much so that two official predictions were already logged in their favor.
Time will tell if these predictions actually come true, but things are looking really good for UGA with Smith.
Two EDGE targets
EDGE is potentially the position Georgia needs some help with the most out of the portal, so thankfully they have two elite visitors coming in. Those players are North Carolina's Beau Atkinson and Army's Elo Modozie.
While both players would be big wins for the Bulldogs, it is Modozie who is the most exciting of the two as he is ranked as the top available EDGE in the portal as of now.
UGA looking for revenge
Last but not least is Miami (FL) defensive lineman Joshua Horton. It will be interesting to see if UGA still purues Horton if they end up landing Smith from A&M, but he is a very talented player and Georgia could always use more talent on the defensive line.
However, the thing that is the most exciting about Horton is the revenge Georgia could get on Miami if they were able to earn his commitment. Everyone knows that the Hurricanes took Carson Beck from UGA in January, but Miami also stole a 2026 commitment in Jontavius Wyman a couple weeks ago as well.
So while getting a commitment from Horton is great on its own, returning the favor and stealing someone from Miami would feel really good.
