Day two of the spring transfer portal window is in the books, and this day was a lot more eventful for Georgia. Wednesday, the first day the portal was open, was pretty uneventful for Georgia as only one Bulldog entered the portal and one transfer scheduled a visit. However, Thursday created a lot more news as two Bulldogs simultaneously entered the portal while multiple more visits were scheduled with other transfers.
One of those visits was with Alabama A&M defensive lineman Sedrick Smith, who managed to already by on a visit to UGA on Thursday. And it appears that visit is going extremely well as he was predicted to commit to Georgia during this visit.
#Georgia has just received a crystal ball prediction to land Alabama A&M transfer Sedrick Smith by Chris Hummer of 247Sports. 🐶

Alabama A&M DL Sedrick Smith predicted to land with Georgia
Sometimes transfers in the portal choose to visit multiple schools before deciding on where they want go, and sometimes transfers visit one school and immediately shut their recruitment down. That's what appears to be happening with Smith and Georgia.
Smith has played just one season of college ball where he recorded 20 total tackles and one sack. These stats, as one would assume, do not make Smith a highly regarded transfer in the portal. However, that isn't stopping Kirby Smart and Georgia from pursuing him because they brought him on a visit right away and seem to be pushing for a commitment.
Smith is originally from Atlanta, GA, so there is a chance he has always dreamed of playing for UGA. If that is the case, then that only helps Georgia's chances in this recruitment.
Obviously no recruitment is over until the player officially commits to Georgia, but this recruitment is about as close to over as possible. So hopefully UGA is able to officially land Smith before other schools get involved, that way they can get some momentum in the portal and try to land some other players as well.
