Georgia football thankfully has a bye week up next because they are going to need some time to breath after their overtime victory Saturday night against Tennessee. It may not have been pretty, but Georgia got the job done and are leaving Tennessee as one of the favorites to win the SEC this season.

But what stood out from this game the most? Here are five immediate observations that every Georgia fan likely had after witnessing the Bulldogs take Tennessee down Saturday night.

1. Gunner Stockton is the next great Georgia quarterback

Gunner Stockton entered the 2025 season with very few believers outside of Athens. That no longer will be the case after Saturday night.

Stockton finished the night completing 23 of 31 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns. He also found some success with his legs as well and did not throw an interception for the third game in a row.

But most importantly, Stockton was able to lead Georgia to victory in his first road start of his career in what is potentially the most difficult atmosphere in the country. If Stockton can have this good of a game at Tennessee against that great of a team, then the sky is the limit for him throughout his career.
