Earlier this month, Georgia and Kirby Smart received the incredible news that 5-star running back Kemon Spell is going to be Athens-bound, as he committed to UGA over Notre Dame, Penn State and many others. Despite that, speculation continues to come in that Spell might flip down the road.
Really? Keep in mind that the youngster was once committed to Penn State, but had a change of heart. Despite that, it's clear that the Georgia faithful don't have anything to worry about moving forward regarding his status.
In an interview with reporter Jeff Sentell, Spell opened up on why he committed to the Dawgs and why he has no plans of giving another program a look. Straight up, Spell is 100 percent locked in with the SEC powerhouse and nothing is going to change that.
How strong is the Kemon Spell #GoDawgs commitment? It was worth a trip to snowy Pennsylvania to hear it straight from the 5-star.

Spell has seen the comments on social media. He shared several mic-drop takes on exactly what "commitment" means to him.https://t.co/N0q8w8YIQJ pic.twitter.com/KKdTdBWv1q

“I sat down and actually saw what Georgia is," Spell told Sentell on his recent visit to the Georgia campus. "It felt like home. I was being loved on every time I went there. And then after that, we had the money conversation. I told Georgia specifically I didn’t want any money conversations until I felt like I was home. And we just had that conversation before I left after that weekend when I committed.”
On top of that, Spell told Sentell that he only has one official visit planned for this spring and summer, with it being a trip to Georgia. That tells you that Spell indeed is locked in with the Dawgs and he's already looking forward to his future making plays for Smart.
As you probably could have guessed, Georgia fans can't wait to see Spell in action too, as he's the No. 1 running back in the country and No. 7 prospect overall for the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite. He's got standout playmaker written all over him, no doubt about that.
With him being a Pennsylvania product, local fans were hoping he'd be a stud in the Big Ten for the Nittany Lions, but instead, he's ready to be a stud for the Dawgs once the '27 season gets here. He'll look to live up to the hype early on in his career too.
